Hello everyone,
I wanted to share a suggestion with the developers regarding EXP and character progression.
I've seen some players mentioning that leveling can feel a little slow, especially at certain levels. At the same time, I don't think simply increasing the server-wide EXP rate would necessarily be the best solution, since that could end up changing the overall progression of the game.
So I was thinking about an alternative that could potentially be tested.
For example:
Example:
Depending on how EXP is distributed, playing in a party can sometimes feel less rewarding than farming alone.
Something like:
Instead of simply giving everyone 100% of the normal EXP, the chip could reduce the EXP penalty caused by party distribution.
There could be a specific formula to keep the system balanced.
The main idea would be:
A special ability could be introduced, for example:
The Pet assists the player during training.
Example:
It would also give Pets an additional purpose.
For example:
Basic EXP Chip
Material comum ×10
Material raro ×5
Zeni
Better versions could require harder-to-obtain materials.
This would give players another reason to collect materials while farming.
For example:
It would also give the developers more control over balancing through:
These numbers are just examples, of course.
The developers could determine the actual values after testing the impact on the server.
It could also give additional purposes to systems that already exist in DBO:
Scouter → Chips
Pets → Training Skills
Crafting → Chip Production
Party → Better EXP Efficiency
Maybe a combination of these systems could be an interesting alternative to simply increasing the EXP rate.
I'm not saying these numbers or systems need to be implemented exactly as described. I just think the general concept could be tested and adjusted by the developers.

- Scouter Chips
One possibility would be to introduce special chips that can be equipped into the Scouter, providing different temporary benefits. For example:
- EXP Analysis Chip
A chip that temporarily increases the EXP gained by the player.Example:
- +25% EXP
- Duration: 2 hours
- Cooldown: 12 hours
- Could be obtained through Crafting
- Cannot stack with another EXP boost
- Party Training Chip
Another idea I think could be interesting is a chip specifically designed for players who enjoy playing in groups.Depending on how EXP is distributed, playing in a party can sometimes feel less rewarding than farming alone.
Something like:
- Party Training Chip
A chip that improves EXP efficiency while the player is in a Party.Instead of simply giving everyone 100% of the normal EXP, the chip could reduce the EXP penalty caused by party distribution.
There could be a specific formula to keep the system balanced.
The main idea would be:
This could also encourage more players to look for parties instead of farming alone."Playing with other players shouldn't feel like you're sacrificing too much progression."
- Pet Training Skill
Another possibility would be to make use of Pets.A special ability could be introduced, for example:
Training Instinct
The Pet assists the player during training.Example:
- +25% EXP
- Duration: 2 hours
- Cooldown: 12 hours
It would also give Pets an additional purpose.
- Crafting
What I find particularly interesting is connecting these systems to Crafting. For example:
Basic EXP Chip
Material comum ×10
Material raro ×5
Zeni
Better versions could require harder-to-obtain materials.
This would give players another reason to collect materials while farming.
- I don't think it should be a permanent bonus
In my opinion, the important thing would be to keep the base server EXP rate unchanged and make these systems a temporary way of improving progression. For example:
Players who don't want to use the system would simply continue playing normally.A player has 2 hours available to play → activates the EXP Chip → makes the most of that farming session.
It would also give the developers more control over balancing through:
- EXP percentage
- Duration
- Cooldown
- Crafting requirements
- Number of chips that can be used
- Party size
- Whether different bonuses can stack
- Different Chip Tiers
There could even be different levels of chips:These numbers are just examples, of course.
The developers could determine the actual values after testing the impact on the server.
- Why am I suggesting this?
I think this could be a way to improve the feeling of progression without simply increasing the global EXP rate.It could also give additional purposes to systems that already exist in DBO:
Scouter → Chips
Pets → Training Skills
Crafting → Chip Production
Party → Better EXP Efficiency
Maybe a combination of these systems could be an interesting alternative to simply increasing the EXP rate.
